Learning Objectives

  • This course aims to make the participant familiar with the regulations that apply to work at wastewater treatment plants, how to perform a risk assessment, and how to use a gas detector and respiratory
  • protection equipment.

Target Group

  • For personell performing daily work within water and sewage.

Prerequisites

  • No special.
  • It is recommended to bring their own gas detection equipment, respiratory protection equipment and procedure for confined space entry.

  • Current regulations and recommendations (Labour Inspection Regulations 701-706,)
  • Risk assessment / Safe Job Analysis (SJA)
  • Challenges with confined spaces
  • Combustible and toxic gases
  • Hazards associated with lack of oxygen
  • Gasdetection
  • Before and after use checks
  • Respiratory protection equipment
  • Practical use of portable gas detector and respiratory protection
  • Simple maintenance
  • Written test
