Confined Space Entry (CSE) (FIGCSCSEEN)
Objectives

This course will enable the participant to know the dangers that can occur when working in confined spaces. Participants learn the basic operation of the portable gas detector, respirator protection equipment and fall protection.

This course is a mixture of theory and practical exercises.
Target Group

For personnel who need knowledge of the hazards of entering confined spaces.
Prerequisites

No physical requirements beyond normal health.

It is recommended for the participants to get familiar with their own procedures for entering a confined space.

Current regulations and recommendations from the Labour Inspectorate, PSA and Norwegian Oil Industry Association

Hazards of entry into confined spaces

Flammable and toxic gases

Hazards associated with oxygen

Types of respirators equipments and use of these

Fall protection, rescue equipment and chemical protection

Use of portable gas detectors

Risk assessment and safe job analysis (SJA)
