Learning Objectives

  • This 1 day course will enable the participant to make the necessary measurements in places where there is danger of explosive or toxic gases or vapors. This course provides basic skills for the Authorised Gas Testers who should issue work certificate before entering confined space and hot work.

Target Group

  • This course provides a refresher of the basic skills for the Authorised Gas Testers who should issue work certificate before entering confined space and hot work.

Prerequisites

  • The participant must have previously gone through a 3 day AGT course or have long experience with entrance measurements.
  • Further requirements are to pass the Dräger Fundamentals of Gas Detection - complete training series - online training, before entering the classroom.

  • The following topics will be covered in the course:
  • Current regulations and recommendations from the Labour Inspectorate, PSA and Norwegian Oil Industry Association
  • Confined spaces
  • Flammable and toxic gases
  • Hazards associated with oxygen
  • Personal protective equipment and respirators equipments
  • Gas Theory
  • Portable gas detectors
  • Procedures for gas testing
  • Practical exercises and written test
