Authorised Gas Tester (AGT) (FIGCSAG1EN)

• This 3 day course will enable the participant to make the necessary measurements in places where there is danger of explosive or toxicgases or vapors. This course provides basic skills for the Authorised Gas Testers who should issue work certificate before entering confined space and hot work.

• Testers who should issue work certificate before entering confined space and hot work.

• Participants should possess basic knowledge about the use of portable gas detectors and have used these frequently in their work.

• The following topics will be covered in the course:

• Current regulations and recommendations from the Labour Inspectorate, PSA and Norwegian Oil Industry Association

• Confined spaces

• Flammable and toxic gases

• Hazards associated with oxygen

• Personal protective equipment and respirators equipments

• Gas Theory

• Portable gas detectors

• Procedures for gas testing

• Practical exercises and written test

• Recommended refresher course every 3 years.
