Learning Objectives

  • This course aims to teach users and maintenance personnel
  • structure, function, and daily maintenance * of Dräger portable gas detection equipment.
  • This course is conducted over two days and focus on the most common Dräger instruments used in the market today.

Target Group

  • Personnel performing daily maintenance on gas detection instruments.

  • No special.

  • The following topics will be covered in the course:
  • Basic gas-theory
  • Sensor theory
  • Combustible and toxic gases
  • Hazards associated with oxygen
  • Current regulations and recommendations (Labour Inspection Regulations 701-706, EN-60079-29-2, EN-45544)
  • Practical use of portable gas detector
  • Daily maintenance *
  • Sensor replacement
  • Review of the test equipment: X-dock*
  • Accessories (X-Zone, External pump), and how to use
  • The following instruments will be reviewed (might vary depending on equipment owned):
  • X-am 2000/2500/2800, X-am 5000/5600/5800 , X-am 7000 & X-am 8000

  • Recommended refresher course every 3 years.
    • *Does not include performing annual service / certification, this should be done by a certified service technician.
